Our December in Review

Chamber Holiday Party

Such a great evening at the Seminole County Chamber Holiday Party! Grateful for a year filled with networking, new connections, and community growth. We’re excited to continue building relationships and staying connected with the Chamber in the year ahead!

Angella’s Annual Armor Up Christmas Party!

We had our Annual Christmas party at Angella’s house bringing together all the women, our recovery homes, our graduates, and people on our board, and our friends. So much food and fun and laughter. It’s one of our favorite parties of the year.

We laughed so hard during our white elephant game, and we had an ornament making contest! Congratulations to Maria Colon, Beth Robinson, Briana Marie, and Nancy Voltarelli for your beautiful ornaments who won the first, second, third and forth place! Everyone has such creative souls! We also played many fun games like trivia and word scramble where there were prizes along with raffle prizes.

Then of course, we can’t forget the moment we had best dressed and runners up in the most festive dressed contest too!

Next, Let me tell you, Frankie Mallamaci, Rhonda Marret, Lisa, and Maria, who joined them this year, nailed the annual christmas show!! (We missed you this year Andrea, we knew you weren’t feeling well).

Every year you ladies go above and beyond and you are all over the top amazing. You can tell lots of time and effort go in to their whole production. Thank you. It’s always such a fun part of our party. Thank you for making us all smile and laugh and sing and celebrate. 🎶

It was beautiful so fun! Thank you Jesus for all you’ve done for us for the gift of your life and forgiving us this beautiful reason to celebrate merry CHRISTmas to all.

Angel Tree

We had the honor on Tuesday and the days following to hand out 52 Angel Tree gifts. Thanks to God, and Leigh-Ann and Richard Gallegos at Sysco Foods. They collected, bought, and wrapped, through their Angel Tree at work, for the 52 children of struggling families in our recovery community and families who have lost loved ones due to overdose. Sysco blessed us with 65 turkeys and 30 pies also. We got to spread the love, encouragement, and prayers while we handed out the gifts.

God was truly moving throughout this event. ✨

We had the blessing of meeting so many families and praying over them during this season. It is such an honor to be able to bless others and speak life, hope, and prayer over men and women as they step into what’s ahead.

We trust that God is watching over each of them and that He has plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans for hope and a future, just as Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us. We pray over every gift, every turkey, and every pie that was given, asking that each family be blessed abundantly this Christmas season and well into the new year.

Lord, we trust You to guide every path. We lean not on our own understanding, but on Yours. We may not always understand why trials come, but we know You are with us in the fire, carrying us beyond what we could ever imagine.

Making Spirits Bright Together!

We have to give a HUGE thank you to Kathy and her small group at St Lukes Lutheran Church in Oviedo. year they literally had the women in our homes make a wishlist and Kathy and the group shopped and bought the gifts on the wishlist for the ladies. 🎁 And also a special thank you for the generous donation from St. Lukes Methodist Church who are our generous supporters every year for Christmas so we could stuff their stockings, fill their Christmas boxes, and their Christmas bags with lots of extra personalized special gifts.

We had a beautiful CHRISTmas party for all of the ladies at Victory and Freedom House. So much fun and laughter. Thank you to our other supporters who helped make this a memorable Christmas for each and every one of our ladies. We love you and God bless you. These women got to have a beautiful new memory at Christmas. For most of them, they haven’t had a happy memory for Christmas for a very long time. So beautiful to create new memories together. I love you all. Merry Christmas and God bless you.

Toys in the Street

What a beautiful honor it was to spend Christmas Eve day in some of the poorest streets of Orlando with Helen, Leigh, and Rhonda who’s on the board of our nonprofit, Armor Up Recovery Home and Ministry. My daughter, Skyanne, and Helen’s daughter Caroline joined us too.

We were able to bless hundreds of people and families. This day blessed me so much more than any of the lives we had the honor of getting to touch and meet on Christmas Eve.

Many were filled with tears of joy and genuine vulnerability, wish I could have captured them all in a bottle, but our papa in heaven did and the memories will stay etched in my heart and mind forever.

There were salvations and soooo many prayers And many embraces and hugs and kisses. It was a miraculous day and the Lord drove our truck to everyone He intended us to go to, to encourage and reach and spread his love through his gospel and his son Jesus. My life, and I know our girls lives are never the same after a day like today. What we see and what we get to witness and be a part of is beyond words. These pictures can’t explain the love felt, and shared for our hurting brothers and sisters and the Lord‘s beautiful children. We had the honor of getting to bring so many smiles to so many girls and boys and grown adults and I thank you all who helped us so that we could get to go and be the hands and feet of Jesus. You were all there with us too! All of you who support this ministry were with us and are a part of all God did! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and God bless you all.

May we continue into 2026 asking the father to break our hearts for what breaks his and may we continue to love with our actions and not by words. May we continue to bring Hope and the gospel to everyone God places in our path. May we be a light in the dark places intentionally and on purpose. May we go and be the change this year that we want to see in the world.

Sobriety Anniversaries

Happy sober anniversary to our very own, Angella Moore! Oct 4th marked 14 whole years (including days and nights lol) of recovery from all drugs, alcohol and a whole lot of other things. So this year she wanted to share a mini testimony in honor of her 14 years clean.

On September 11, 2011, on Seminole County’s jail cell floor after receiving my seventh DUI and being addicted to opiates for 11+ years, I received the gift of desperation! By Oct.4th 2011 I surrendered all my drugs and began my healing and recovery journey….

I started using pot at the age of 9 and became instantly obsessed. I was using drugs and alcohol with my dad by age 11 or 12 and many more inappropriate things…I was an addict until the age of 27 to everything or everyone that felt good. Anything or anyone is what I used to numb and escape and fill the huge empty hole and void inside of me. I used heavily until the age of 27, alcohol and cocaine were my drugs of choice for most of those years. I stayed clean for 7 or 8 years off of everything and then my doctor prescribed opioids for my migraines and instantly I was obsessed, yet once again. I lived the following 11+ years for that high. I was in a love affair and I chased that high with everything in me and I could never get enough. They gave me superpowers, I thought. I could actually keep up with me. They were legal and my doctor prescribed them so it was okay, right?

You see, I never healed from the inside out. I never worked all the 12-steps of recovery. I never kept a sponsor long. And I never got all the other healing that needed to take place and didn’t. I was a very broken little girl inside of an adult body. When I got clean I just became a supermom, superwife, housekeeper, cook, maid, and chauffeur. I was going to make up for the wreckage of my past. My title, my job, making 6 figures a year, the house, the boat, the cars, the toys, and the kids were what I lived and breathed for. I was just trying to be loveable and be super everything so everyone would love and approve of me and so that I wouldn’t hate myself so badly, living in the guilt and shame that tormented me from the time I was a little girl. I felt I was never enough. I never could or would be enough. See I was looking in all the wrong places, things, and people for love, approval, and satisfaction to no avail.

I am in awe of what God has done in my life over the last 14 years. I was beaten and broken and should’ve been dead. I had wished for death. It sure seemed easier than quitting my opiates. Up to that point, the thought of death brought me great comfort. I knew I did not begin to fit in this world and that I just didn’t belong here. I felt everyone would be so much better without me, I really did… that was the lie from the devil that I truly believed in my toxic mind. I honestly just didn’t have the guts to put a bullet in my head or I would have… but God saved me in His infinite wisdom, on that jail cell floor with my 7th DUI. I knew He wasn’t gonna let me die and He wasn’t letting me out of this world that easily. I cried out to Him from a place I had never cried from before and I finally truly surrendered all. That is when I received the gift of desperation and what a ride it’s been the last 14 years with my Lord. I sought GOD, RECOVERY, and inner healing like I sought drugs, alcohol, and everything else that felt good…… in return He healed me from the inside out.

Let me tell you He has been my fix, my high like no other, and I am madly in love with Him. I will spend the rest of my life spreading His love and the gospel to the broken in all 4 corners of the earth. My life today is to pass it on and help others find true healing, be set free, and climb out of the pits of hell and the chains of their addictions. This is how Armor Up Recovery Homes and Ministry was birthed.GOD did not waste a hurt, a tragedy or mistake! It is all being used for HIS GLORY! My MESS IS MY MESSAGE! I have the honor now of helping women change their story by working on lasting inner healing, deliverance, and transformations from ALL addictions and destructive lifestyles. Armor Up gets to come alongside each woman with the tools IN WAYS uniquely tailored for them and their journey of recovery and transformation so that God can help heal their mind, body, soul, and spirit and help them recover all that God intended for them to be and have. If God can save a wretch like me, He will do it for anyone. MAY YOU FIND HOPE NOW. (Romans 15:13 May the God of HOPE fill you with all JOY and PEACE as you TRUST IN HIM so that you may overflow with HOPE by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT.) I believe in the power of unconditional love, redemption, and transformation… Every individual is full of value with a valuable story. The goal being to help them step into their true GOD-given purpose, and go be the world changers GOD called them to be. If He can set this prisoner free, He can set anyone free! Thank you JESUS!

“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.” 1 Corinthians 1:26-29

“I am a new creation in Christ, the old has gone, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“I know the truth today. I have been set free.” John 8:32

“I consider my life worth nothing, if only I may finish the race and the task set before me. The task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24
