Hi friends and supporters! Thank you so much for following us at Armor Up. We appreciate you greatly.

Fall is in the air. I love the cooler nights where we can leave the windows open and wake up and put on our snuggly robe and slippers and have a cup of coffee with Jesus. October 4th is my favorite day of the years because its the day I get to celebrate all that God has done in my life to bring me to 12 year clean and sober from the chains of all of my addictions.

So this year I just wanted to share that on September 11, 2011, on Seminole County jail cell floors after receiving my seventh DUI and being addicted to opiates for 11 years I received the gift of desperation! I am in awe of what God has done in my life over the last 12 years. I was beaten and broken and should’ve been dead. I had wished for death. It sure seemed easier than quitting my opiates. Up to that point, the thought of death brought me great comfort. I knew I did not begin to fit in this world and that I just didn’t belong here and I felt everyone would be so much better without me, I really did… that was the lie from the devil I truly believed in my toxic mind. I honestly just didn’t have the guts to put a bullet in my head or I would have… but God in his infinite wisdom, knew sitting in that jail cell crying out to GOD from a place I had never cried before, I knew he wasn’t gonna let me die and that’s where I received the gift of desperation and what a ride, it’s been the last 12 years with my Lord. I sought my Lord, like I sought drugs, alcohol, and everything else that felt good! Let me tell you he has been my fix, my high like no other, and it lasts. And I will spend the rest of my life, trying to help others out of the pits of hell and the chains of their addictions because if he can set this prisoner free, he can sit anyone free. He has not wasted a hurt or a mistake it’s all being used for his glory. Yes, my mess is my message! Thank you JESUS!

I am a new creation in Christ the old has gone the new has come.

John 8:32

I consider my life worth nothing, if only I may finish the race and the task set before me. The task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

Bingo Night

Our very first fundraiser. What a blast we had playing bingo! So many of our friends and family and supporters showed up. We had such an awesome time! Lots of love, laughter and fun! We were able to pay out $1,200 in cash and with raffle prizes a little over $1,500 in cash and prizes we were able to give back to our recovery community and we got to raise the same amount for Armor Up. We got to have a blast and laugh, I can’t wait for our next bingo event. I’m thinking February now that we’ve done one and we know what we’re doing, this is definitely something we would like to do several times a year. We will start check-in’s at four and have everybody checked in and ready to play at five so we can end by seven or 7:15 for our meeting makers! I didn’t get to say “Hi” and give a lot of you a hug that came. Please forgive me, next time we will be more experienced and I’ll be able to spend more time in that first hour saying “Hi” to my friends and supporters! So, thank you again to everyone who came and played with us! A special shout out to my son and his wife, Keith and Lia Moore from Steadfast Recovery and to AC Black and Lauren who we partner with from She Is More Than, which fights human trafficking and Rainy, Babs, and the rest of the bunch from Bikers Against Human Trafficking and so many more! We love you. God bless you. Can’t wait to do it again!
