The houses have been thriving this past month, and we are excited to share our updates with you.

In the Past Month

House Improvements with Action Church

Our partners at Action Church were back again to further improve our houses. They completed some repairs, did some yardwork, and gave the inside of our houses a fresh new coat of paint. They also prayed over the girls and worked with them spiritually. They will also be coming back on May 22nd to paint the exterior of the houses, do some more handyman work, and pray over the women. We are so grateful for their help and prayers.

It Impacts Us All Video

Our founder Angella Moore was featured on It Impacts Us All sharing her story. It Impacts Us All talks about the recovery process from opioids and shows that there is hope for the recovering addict, and it is possible to fully recovery from your addictions. It is a powerful and moving message and documentary. You can see Angella’s video by clicking here.

Donations

We would like to thank Dave and his wife Carey from Action Outreach Team for their continued dedication and heart. Dave has been coming every Tuesday to work on the homes doing handyman work and repairs, and Carey has graciously donated brand new furniture and décor for our homes, giving us an updated and gorgeous new interior design look.

Thank you also to Vicki Martin at Christian Help for your continued donations and support, furthering the improvement of our homes and the resources available to our women.

Speaker of the Month

Our April speakers of the month were Chantel and her daughter Victoria from Northland Church. Chantel gave her testimony of her recovery. She has been in recovery for over a decade, and told her inspiring story of how she rebuilt her life and restored her relationship with her daughter. She made all of the women weep with her powerful testimony that touched everyone so deeply. This testimony gave our women women, especially those with children, that all that we thought was lost can be redeemed and restored in our familial relationships, and that it is possible to fully recover and to rebuild their lives. Thank you to Chantel and Victoria for the powerful mother/daughter testimony.

Baptisms

Seven of our women were baptized on April 11th. Congratulations to Michaela, Chasity, Meg, Sharell, Megan and her little girl, Francis, and Christy, we are so proud of their personal decision. Three more women are getting baptized this upcoming month as well! We are so excited for them.

This is a beautiful display and confession of their newfound faith. Baptism represents a changed heart and is an inward expression of rededication and surrendering to Jesus and an outward expression of being cleansed of all past sins and a new beginning with Christ as our center. Baptism is a personal choice, and while not all of our women choose to be baptized, the ones that do find baptism to be a big step in their recovery process as they surrender their wills and ways and past for God’s total healing and redemption in all that He has for their future. We are so proud of all of them, and so grateful and blessed to be able to take part in this.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come we are a new creation

Upcoming

Speaker of the Month

Pastor Eddie from Action Church as felt called by God to become involved in Armor Up and with all of the women in Freedom House and Victory House. He is coming on May 13th Thursday to share some of his testimony, strength, and hope with the women. We are so excited for him to get to know all of the women and to become a strong partner with Armor Up.

Activities

We have planned an exciting beach day for May 15th! We will be kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, picnicking, and all around having a good time. This will be a great event to get out, have fun, and get some exercise.

A donor from Action Recovery donated tickets to a Casting Crowns concert on May 21st for 18 of our women. We are so excited to spend time together having fun and listening to good music, learning how to laugh and have a blast without the use of drugs and alcohol. We are extremely thankful for your generosity. What a blessing.

For fun and expression and a healthy outlet project  for our women we will be painting stepping stones with encouraging scriptural messages and artwork. We will place them at the entryway to our homes as a warm and personal welcome into Victory and Freedom houses. And of course we will eat and drink(ice tea) lol…. and laugh and play together also!  And our motley crew knows how to have fun!
